When it comes to social media marketing, many small business owners think one of two things – that it hasn’t be successful in the past or that it’s too late to even start. This is so not the case!! Let me repeat this… THIS IS SO NOT THE CASE!
As a small business, we all know it’s important to get the most of your marketing dollars. Let me tell you… social media is one of the most versatile, cost-effective strategy that a small business can use to reach their target audience and boost sales.
Social media has quickly (and we mean quickly) become one of the most important aspects to digital marketing and if you are not utilizing it to its fullest then you are definitely missing out on an incredible marketing opportunity. Social media makes it not only easy to spread the word about the products and services you carry, but your mission as a business.
So why do we think it’s so great? Here are our top 5 reasons we choose to market through social media.
Your Customers are on Social Media
So we know that 59% of people access some form of social media EVERY day and over a third of those people check their social media pages over 5 times a day! With so many people online every day, this presents an amazing opportunity for small businesses to reach an online audience. Why wouldn’t you want a piece of that action?
Customers want to know that a brand exists. An active social media account with regular content not only helps customers discover you, but allows them to start building relationships with you. By posting content that your audience finds interesting, you are more likely to foster engagements that lead to potential new clients.
Developing a Loyal Community
People enjoy being part of a business, more than just a sales pitch. With social media, small businesses can easily connect with their customers online on a more personal level.
Social media is a great place to go to for feedback on your business. By enabling customers/potential customers a way to communicate with not only you but each other, you greatly increase your customer service and brand trustworthiness. Responding to comments and direct messages is a great way to keep in contact with past, present and future customers.
Increase Digital Exposure
Social media leads to massive exposure due to its’ worldwide access sharing capabilities and huge amount of daily users. Getting onto social platforms can open a huge new realm of customers to your branch and with good social content your posts will grow and reach thousands.

With today’s online consumer behavior, business blogging is becoming essential to those not only looking to maintain an online presence, but to help businesses stand above the competition and even obtain new customers. Business growth doesn’t just happen overnight. It takes time and patience; and occurs in relation to your target audience, competitors and even search engines. Here are some reasons why blogging can be so important to your business.
Blogging helps your business compete
(Truth!) As we all know there are so many OTHER small businesses out there that provide the same products and services you do. However, we also know that no two companies are alike, so it’s super important to emphasize what makes you and your company unique. Blogging is a way to help your company not only showcase its personality, but also your products, services and your expertise in the marketplace. If you want to make yourself known to your target audience and how you distinguish yourself from other competitors, blogging is a must.
Blogging can improve your SEO (MY FAVORITE)
Blogging can and will help you to increase your search engine rankings. Search Engine Optimization, otherwise known as SEO, is a process comprised of a number of difference activities and blogging is just a portion of what it takes to improve those rankings. So while blogging alone won’t get you on the first page of Google overnight; it can significantly help your rankings over time.
Blogging has been proven to help businesses
Statistics have proven time and time again that businesses that blog generate more leads than businesses that don’t. Think of it this way, if you are not updating your content regularly why would Google want to rank you and share your boring old web page with new customers? Blogging give your website fresh content that in turn can help potential customers find out more about your business. I mean who doesn’t love a warm lead.
Maintaining a blog increases your own expertise
To write a blog (at least one worth reading) you have to stay on top of your industry and service/products that you’re wanting to talk about. Blogging benefits your business because the stronger your knowledge and communication of those products and services, the more trust you will earn from potential customers. And as we all know, trust is what turns interested viewers into customers and current customers into loyal advocates.
Blog posts become great social media content
Do you often struggle with what to share on social media? We’ve all been there and blogging is another great way for small businesses to re-purpose content and come up with information to share to their social pages. Just think… one blog can be broken down into several social media posts. For example, statistics on the subject you’re presenting, an important quote that sticks out, or even an interesting fact. All you need to do is add a cool graphic and BOOM a social media post is born.
So you see blogging is not had hard as it seems and it offers a wide array of benefits for your business. If you are looking to set yourself apart from your competitors and be seen by your target audience, your business needs to blog! We all know you have a story to tell, and maybe the issue is you just don’t have the time to tell it. If that’s the case, I’d love to help!
